Kasey was starting to make quite the name for himself. Small playing death dealer for now, small business owner too, and wouldn't ya know it- small in the whole dang universe.
But his name would be remembered. Somehow. By somebody.
Tonight's exchange went well. The stuff he'd shipped off with his dealers went accordingly, the one loose end was silenced, and he'd made quite the lovely bit of cash. Oh, and his bar was rated "best service" for the first time. Did it matter? To most people, probably not. But he was happy.
Kasey strode down the street with a tune whistling and a bounce in his step. He was going to reward himself for his hard, unique, totally awesome work. Yeah. He was going to treat himself to women, clothes, liquor, smokes and...
No wait. That wasn't for Kasey! Kasey chuckled at his internal monologue and slipped into a Walmart to get a video game. He loved video games. They were fun, they were great for dexterity and of course- they had the women, liquor, smokes, and other types of loot for him to partake in. Life would be good.
Except they'd sold out. Kasey grunted and walked back outside, heaving a heavy sigh. "Seriously? This is what I get for being such a great guy? Really?" Who was he addressing? No one. But he wanted an answer, d*mn it.
Kasey slipped down and alley, his mood changing from beyond eager to rather dull and irritated. He'd wanted a nice distraction. Instead? Back to work. That's what that sold out sign meant.
So to work he was going, trudging through some trash and dirt to make his way back to the bar where he could do some of that so-called brilliant service. Again. And again. And again...
Life was so monotonous sometimes.

Rosen shook her head slowly and her long, layered hair fell across her face. She blew out an angry breath as she looked around impatiently. Reno...What was there to do in Reno? Rosen had never been to Reno before and nor did she care to. She knew Cleo and Cherokee had taken trips down to Reno but that was about it. Rosen didn't keep tabs on what was going on around the world. She wasn't much of a loving person unless you got to know her. All of the vampire-werewolf-anomaly unit crap was starting to bug her.
Rosen looked up at a few signs above passing shops. She had no idea where she was or what to with herself. She had planned to meet Cleo in Reno on her way back from Tennessee but it turned out Cleo's trip was longer than expected and now she was in Reno for another few days. It was time off Rosen didn't want.
Before she knew it Rosen had stopped at the mouth of an alley. She stood in the dim light before leaning up against the building. The vampire checked her phone to see if Cleo had sent her a job that needed doing in Reno but there was nothing. Rosen was about to settle on just standing in the dark like a lost puppy before she decided to go across the street and head into a small bar.
Rosen had no idea why Cleo was in Reno. She knew there was a pack of werewolf death dealers in town but she didn't really know where their headquarters were. She didn't like werewolves, in fact, she didn't like anyone no matter what species they were. Rosen looked around the dark bar quickly before grabbing a seat at the far end of the bar. She was tired, bitter, and unamused.

Kasey was brought to a stop as he caught the scent of a vampire. "Is that Cleo I smell?!" he sang and immediately felt a brightening in his mood. He and Cleo had a mutual business relationship...but that did not mean Cleo wasn't a beautiful woman. With power. And money.
Okay so maybe he occasionally had a small thing for Cleo. Not an "in love" sort of deal but a "I think of you at night- er- my night, not your night" sort of deal.
Needless to say, he was disappointed that the vampire scent was not to Cleo. Instead, he spotted just some face with fangs and his mood deflated. "Oh. Nevermind," He remarked with a huff and continued towards his bar. With each step past the vampire he put Cleo out of his mind. He had other things he should focus on.
Kasey ran a hand through his hair and put a whistle to his lips as he sauntered fairly casually to his business. It was just another day and he was just a "lucky" winner. Ha ha.

Rosen heard a door open and close but she didn't bother to look. She was in werewolf territory but she was a Lucius and Rosen knew she shouldn't have any trouble. Afterall, Cleo's scent was all over her. The vampire stared quietly at the wall behind the bar. Her trance was broken when she heard her mother's name being called out. Rosen sat up straighter and turned to see a werewolf coming towards the bar.
Rosen's lips parted in amusement and the tips of her fangs showed slightly. So this was Kasey Christian? Cleo and Cherokee had been right about him being handsome. She raised an eyebrow as he dismissed her and continued on without a second glance. Her dark eyes were narrowed in the same fashion her mother's did.
"You're smell is not off." Rosen said with what little remnants of her Cornish accent were left. After eight centuries, any accent Rosen and her sister had left was gone except for the occasional word or two. "Cleo's my mother." Rosen said with a wide smile. She watched Kasey quietly before setting her hands on the edge of the bar. Rosen glanced around for a moment before looking back at the werewolf. The vampire rolled her eyes before holding out a hand. "I don't believe we've met. I'm Rosen Lucius." She said quietly. Rosen could be a very polite girl she just chose not to be most of the time.

He slowed and turned to look at the pretty young vampire- old vampire?- woman as she spoke. His smell wasn't off? Of course it wasn't...Yet. With his lab across town and he basically being there a good portion of his day daily he wouldn't be shocked if he lost a sense of smell...Or would working with chemicals improve that?
Regardless, he did appreciate the confirmation that he wasn't mistaken. Not completely.
"Cleo's my mother." Kasey cracked a smile and looked her over. "I'm pretty certain vampires can't produce offspring- or is that what you call a person who turns ya?" He leaned against the bar as he spoke with the woman, a pleasant grin on his face. Cleo's daughter huh? That didn't sound tempting at all, nooooo.
Kasey was starting to realize he'd been pretty lonely lately. Not a lot of interesting fish in the sea. "I don't believe we've met. I'm Rosen Lucius." His hands slipped and gripped at the end of the bar before pushing himself forward to exchange the friendly handshake. He gripped her soft, cool hand and gave it a firm shake before pulling away. "Nice to meet you, Kasey Christian....I'm assuming you knew who I was though before we shook. Cleo should have told you."
Should have, but not necessarily did. "How can I help you Rosen? What brings you into this city? Does Cleo need something or just getting away from the city of sin?" He crossed his arms and leaned against the bar once more, his eyes seldom moving from her form. He was watching her.

Rosen watched as Kasey turned to look at her. She had her head cocked and her eyes were bright. Cleo had told her about Kasey and she finally got to meet him. Rosen wasn't big on meeting people but she had been wanting to meet Kasey. As far as she could tell, Cleo trusted Kasey.
"I'm pretty certain vampires can't produce offspring- or is that what you call a person who turns ya?"
Rosen sat up and pushed a few blonde strands behind an ear. She gave him a smile, flashing her sharp teeth, before shaking her head slowly. "You're right, we can't. She is my maker but I've been with her for centuries and I consider her to be my mother." Rosen said quietly. Cleo had taken Rosen and her sister under her wing and since then the three vampires had pretty much been inseparable.
Rosen could feel the warmth of Kasey's hand as they shook each other's hands. "Indeed. She has told me much about you." Rosen had a very faint smile on her pale, pink lips as she watched Kasey curiously.
"I am waiting for Cleo and Cherokee to finish up a job. I hope you don't mind if I hang around Reno for a few days." Rosen said politely. It was nice to get out of Las Vegas but Rosen wasn't sure what to do now that she had free time. Usually she worked around the clock because she hated having nothing to do. Rosen said, resting a hand on the bar. Normally, she wasn't very talkative, but Kasey was basically a friend of the Lucius family and when Cleo trusted someone, so did Rosen. "I haven't traveled for leisured in a while. Any recommendations on how I should keep myself entertained?"

Kasey pulled his hand away and chuckled. "Indeed. She has told me much about you." He shrugged a bit and stuff his hands back into his pockets. "All good stuff, I'm assuming." Rosen was quickly warming up to him or however that saying goes- point is, she seemed likable.
"I am waiting for Cleo and Cherokee to finish up a job. I hope you don't mind if I hang around Reno for a few days." Cherokee? Another name he wasn't too familiar with- he hadn't met her...or him? It was another vampire he'd have to become acquainted with someday.
"I don't mind you hanging around Reno- it's your allied city and vice versa. We're friends by...ah....association," He offered her a smirk and looked towards his office then back to her. Kasey pondered briefly if they would be getting to know each other for the next few days. If Cleo was working nearby that probably meant a visit soon or something.
Then again, if it was all vampire business, he probably wouldn't hear from her. It really depended on the situation. "What's the job your mother's working on?" He asked then strained not to laugh. Using the word "mother" in regard to someone siring another felt funny on his lips. Wolves didn't call their assailants "mother" or "father."
Unless they were born, but that was COMPLETELY different.
"I haven't traveled for leisured in a while. Any recommendations on how I should keep myself entertained?" Kasey shrugged. "I always recommend drinking at the Lucky Night bar. It's full of fun, rowdy people and definitely a welcoming environment for vampires." Kasey paused at the sarcasm in his tone and sighed. "In all honesty, I'm not too sure what you do for fun so I'd prefer not to answer. I could ramble off the tourist bullshit but that stuff is usually a ripoff."
Kasey motioned to his office. "Would you like to talk in private? I could look online for some places you could check out for fun, I suppose. Anything for a friend, right?" He smirked a bit before gesturing to his door. He also wanted to be a proper host to the daughter of his precious alley.

Rosen's lips were pressed tightly together. Truly, she hadn't heard anything bad about Kasey. It was hard to gain Cleo's trust and he had done just that. "So far." She said quietly. Rosen found herself liking Kasey and she wasn't big on making friends.
"I don't mind you hanging around Reno- it's your allied city and vice versa. We're friends by...ah....association,"
Rosen cocked her head an smiled. When Rosen traveled to a new place, especially one that was claimed by either vampire or werewolf, she had always lain low. But in Reno or New York, Rosen was safe and she could relax a little.
When Kasey asked about the job Cleo was on, she flashed a sly smile. "Let's just say...a client didn't hold up their end of a job." Usually, Rosen and Cleo dealt with clients who flaked, but since the client had been Cherokee's, Rosen didn't go. Rosen didn't necessarily enjoy going after a bad client but she didn't hate it either. She had always been somewhat mean but her cruelty could never match that of Cleo's.
Rosen listened to Kasey as he spoke. She didn't really know why she had asked about things to do in Reno. Rosen knew she would have found something to do, but Kasey was growing on her and she was just making conversation. "Well, no worries. I am sure I can find something to do."
Rosen stood up and her gaze followed Kasey as he gestured to a door towards the back of the bar. "Sure." She chimed, as she followed Kasey back. A few wondering eyes fell on her and Rosen's eyes narrowed as she caught their gazes. She was feeling friendly with Kasey but it didn't mean she was ready to become besties with the rest of the world.

When she finally replied to his question, he found himself chuckling. "Let's just say...a client didn't hold up their end of a job." Man, he loved it when his underlings or clientele thought they could out smart him by doing bullsh*t moves like that. "I empathize, its' not fun playing shake down. I actually have to go to Vegas in a few days to make a trade to make my shakedown process a little easier."
Kasey had ordered a few odds and ends that were easy to dismantle that contained the allergy many of his clients had, that he also shared: silver. Silver was by far the most excruciatingly awful thing he had ever had to deal with- but as it turns out, the cowards who ran from him feared it more.
He would be busy crafting some new tools for himself over the next few weeks.
"Well, no worries. I am sure I can find something to do." He nodded in response before lifting himself from the bar and taking her into his office. He offered her a seat in the office before going to a private mini fridge behind the bar he'd had installed in the event Cleo dropped in unexpectedly. "Can I offer you a drink?" He smiled softly, his eyes wandering over her body for a brief moment before looking away. She was definitely really attractive. Blond, soft looking, and that vampire power that made his blood race- a nice package, definitely the one he tended to look for.

Despite the hassle it caused, Rosen didn't particularly mind when a client screwed up or went back on a deal. She liked putting them back in her place. It didn't happen often and Rosen had pouted when Cleo had taken the task upon herself. The client had been a long time one and Rosen supposed it hit close to Cleo.
Rosen shrugged out of her leather jacket and hung it on the back of a chair before sitting in it. She cocked her head as she watched Kasey move to the other side of the room. Her interest was definitely peaked. Rosen liked vampires and werewolves alike, but she found the wolves to be a little more interesting and lively. Rosen looked up at Kasey just as he turned away. Had he been eyeing her? Rosen's eyes were bright and she pressed her lips firmly together to hide the smile.
"Can I offer you a drink?"
Rosen sat up straighter and her lips pursed together. "Yes, please." Rosen said. Her voice rose in pitch and a small smile was teasing at the corner of her mouth. Rosen had to admit she missed the days where she could feed whenever she wanted to. A few years ago, Rosen would have bitten the hand off of anyone who even tried to talk to her. But she found that knowing how to be nice had its perks when working with clients instead of her normal apathy. It was somewhat relieving not to be glaring at anyone who looked at her, but she wouldn't let anyone ever know that.
"So..Kasey, tell me about yourself." Rosen crossed one leg over the other and rested her arms on the armrests of the chair.

Kasey finished setting up a drink for her and grabbing a soda for himself before settling back into his seat. Tell me about yourself," she'd suggested, and Kasey found himself taking just a moment to consider who he was before answering.
"You know, when I really think about myself, there are a lot of words that come to mind," he began to reply. Kasey opened his can of soda, the opening mechanism making a loud crack in the momentary silence of his office. "Like...funny, I guess, and totally awesome...But if I were to really tell you about myself I'd have to say I'm just...a big freaking geek trying to run a bar in the desert." He shrugged and offered a smile.
"I'm trying to be a comic book villain- but haven't quite gotten a good name yet. So for now, I just read the source materials and hope for inspiration. Something cool and menacing without being too long and overdrawn, you know?" He rambled before quieting once more. "And now you should tell me about yourself, Rosen." A playful smirk appeared across his face again as he leaned forward to pay attention to her words.
