It had been a fair few months since Harley had last been in Brooklyn gone nightfall. Today, though, the officers who were on shifts at this time had drawn straws to see who'd be going into the dark streets of Brooklyn together. Harley and a male officer called Cory had drawn the short straws and so it was them who would be wandering around the cold streets this January night. Though Harley would have preferred to be wandering around the center of New York, which would normally mean dealing with drunks, herself and Cory made a somewhat good team when they were told to go around together...
Except when they got distracted, which was currently happening as they walked down the street with hot chocolates from Starbucks. They were having a minor disagreement about who was a better Doctor - David Tennant or Matt Smith. Harley preferred David and Christopher Eccleston, but Cory was arguing that Matt Smith was better and Eccleston wasn't even a choice right now because Cory liked Eccleston too.
"Matt doesn't portray anger half as well as David does!" Harley pointed out, blowing into her cup as Cory pulled a face.
"Ten moped about Rose the whole time while Eleven moved on!"
"Eleven probably doesn't remember Rose. He isn't old enough." Harley commented casually before shaking her head. "That was annoying - his moping - but at least you could tell he was unhappy! Angels in Manhattan was the only time I've seen unhappiness on Matt's Doctor." She stated, rolling her eyes while hunching her shoulders against the cold wind and rain. Cory made a noise of disagreement, which Harley was about to react to when they heard a noise from an alley they were passing. They both paused and looked at each other. Harley's eyebrows rose, her eyes widening slightly before she shrugged.
"You first."
"Ha! No." Her face took on a serious and unimpressed expression as she kept her hot chocolate near her face. Cory rolled his eyes and shook his head.
"Pfft, fine. Wimp."
"It's Brooklyn. It's night time. I'm not going down alleyways." Harley stated, moving out of the way for him to go down there instead. Her hand went to her pocket and she pulled out a torch and shone it down the alleyway. "Better?" She asked, smirking softly. Cory snorted and copied her before walking down the alleyway. Harley glanced around before sipping her hot chocolate carefully. That was the good thing about winter; hot chocolate was just what you needed and always felt warmer in the winter...
